Our prayer for today is A prayer based on Acts 8: 26-40

Holy God, give us eyes to see those who are seeking you. Allow their words to encourage us to give an account of the hope that we have received through you. Sometimes we may feel inconvenienced as we move through our daily activities, but help us to always keep our eyes and ears open so we can be bearers of the Good News of Jesus Christ daily. Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.

Help us this very day to proclaim all glory, honor, and power so that your love is seen in and through your people as we together give thanks for your glory. Fill us with your Holy Spirit so we can see moments of reconciliation and grace, so that the message of Jesus can be passed on from generation to generation. The world seeks to buy power and influence so they can be in control. If we are honest, sometimes we do too. Help us to see the way of Jesus as we move day to day. To serve and not be served, to reach out to the broken and needy. Keep us free from all bitterness and guide our hearts away from sin so Christ can be seen in us. We lift this prayer in the name of the one who has served us. Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
