Our prayer for today is a prayer based on Romans 1: 16-25

God of power and might, we thank you for the gift of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through that gospel your righteousness is revealed so that we may live by faith. Help us to live in the plain truth about you so we may live by your eternal power and divine nature to avoid all godlessness and wickedness of this world, but hold fast as we give thanks to you through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Let us not become weary in doing good so the harvest we reap may be good work for the family of believers in Christ. We lift this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

While we may be tempted to gratify the desires of the flesh. We pray that the guiding of the Holy Spirit leads us to live the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Allow that fruit to remind us that we live our lives in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

We give thanks for the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has set us free. Let us fully live in that freedom and totally discard the yoke of slavery in our lives. Let us love our neighbor as ourselves, so we don’t destroy each other with our actions or words. But let us fully live in the example of life given to us by Jesus the Christ. Through that faith in Christ, guide us to share your love and fulfill the promises passed on from Abraham so that all people may come to know the love and grace of Jesus Christ through us. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
