Our prayer for today is a prayer based on Romans 14: 13-23

God of righteousness and peace. We want to live our lives in honor of you. Guide our actions so we do not put a stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Guide us to work together to live in your kingdom through peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So as we serve each other in love, we serve our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.

We see how we hold our preferences as if they are the only way to live a life in you. Help us to see that if we live or die, we belong to you. Let us look at our brothers and sisters in a way that acknowledges Jesus as Lord of all, and that our witness to him supersedes our personal preferences. We lift this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
